Archifarm Goes To Africa!

Archifarm sent Founder, Kevin Watters, on a mission trip with Grace Presbyterian Church.  The primary mission of the trip was to see local community members of Embu Town, Kenya who needed medical assistance.  Archifarm assisted Stu Ross of The Outreach Foundation in the construction of a vocational school for Gateway Presbyterian Church of East Africa.

 

Vocational schools, clinics, and churches are necessary for the growth of developing communities.  These projects are financed and constructed in a collaborative effort from the local community, The Outreach Foundation, and from churches worldwide.

 

Archifarm is continuing to assist in the design and construction of projects in developing nations.

90.1 KPFT Eco-ology Show on Archifarm

Archifarm was interviewed by local radio station 90.1 KPFT on the Eco-ology Show.  The Eco-ology Show is a culture of solutions.  A coalition of solution based citizens from a variety of environmentally-related organizations, focusing on ecological issues, exposing their interdependent relationships.

25th Annual AIA SandCastle Competition

Archifarm competed in the AIA Sandcastle Competition at East Beach, Galveston Texas.  This event benefits the Houston AIA Chapter.  This year marked 25 years for the AIA SandCastle Competition, it also marked the inaugural year for Archifarm’s participation.  Archifarm was by far the smallest company to enter the competition this year, with only 3 employees.

 

The ArchiCastle design was entered under the category of “best traditional”.  We designed the “original” sandcastle.
